Puppet Theatre Winned Grand Prix At International Festival

Tbilisi. October 11 (Prime-News) – Batumi State Puppet and Adult Spectator’s Theatre won the Grand Prix at 15th International Puppet Festival “Golden Dolphin” held in Bulgaria.

The play by Zurab Tsintsadze “Argonauts” was awarded with one of the mains prize for original music.

Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara A.R. – Aida Abuseridze congratulated the State Puppet Theatre with achieved success, “I greatly appreciate your work. Being awarded with the Grand Prix is a great joy and victory and you truly deserve it”.

International Puppet Festival “Golden Dolphin” has been held once in every three years since 1972, while Georgia participated in it for the first time. In total 21 plays of 10 various countries were performed at the festival.

The Play won the Grand Prix for the second time in the same nomination. Mindia Khitarishvili, the composer of the play “Argonauts” was awarded for original composition at 6th International Puppet Festival held in 2009, in Vinnitsa, Ukraine.
